The First Cambodian Presbyterian Ministry of Tacoma is for all those in the Puget Sound region and beyond who care for the growth and well-being of the Cambodian Community in this area.  Dr. Sahara Chea is the founder and the pastor of this ministry.  He is a dynamic evangelical who has a passion for the gospel and is a key to success of this ministry and equipped with the good news of the gospel, this new Cambodian Fellowship reaches out to immigrants, works with youth and with God's love faces the hard realities of gangs and economic stress.
 
This ministry reaches out in many ways to express that care - service, love, fellowship and encouragement. Please join us in this effort.

VISION STATEMENT OF THE FIRST CAMBODIAN

PRESBYTERIAN MINISTRY

 

  • To be a bridge between Western culture and Cambodian culture in order to foster understanding and respect of our differences and similarities, and to share our cultural diversity with others.

 

  • To help Cambodian youth and children maintain their Cambodian language and understand the culture.

 

  • To promote higher education and assist in academic areas to help meet the challenges and opportunities of this complex society.

 

  • To nurture and develop leadership.

 

  • To promote healthy and effective communication and relationships.

 

  • To connect those in need with agencies designed to help meet their needs.

 

  • To be part of the network of Cambodians worldwide.
 
  • To be a bridge between the Presbyterian Church (U.S.A.) and the Cambodian community in Tacoma, WA.

 

The Rev. Jett Brooks has been instrumental in this Mission Partnership with Cambodian Ministry.  Through her leadership at Westminister Presbyterian Church, the congregation welcomed many Cambodian friends and families with open hearts!
